About the Founder

My name is Max Jones, and I am the founder of Operation Stable Ground.

I served in the United States Army as a 13B Cannon Crew Member from 2017 to 2021 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The Army taught me a lot about discipline, structure, accountability, and what it feels like to be part of something bigger than yourself.

But outside of the military, I’m honestly just a pretty simple guy.

I love being outdoors. I love traveling and seeing new places. And if there’s warm chocolate chip cookies involved somewhere along the way, even better.

Over time, I started realizing something after getting out of the military: a lot of veterans don’t struggle because they’re weak or incapable. A lot of them just lose the structure, routine, and sense of direction they once had every single day in service.

One day you have a mission, a team, and a clear purpose. The next, you’re trying to figure everything out on your own.

That stuck with me.

Operation Stable Ground came from a real desire to build the kind of place I wish more veterans had access to when transitioning out. Not a place built around pity, but a place built around stability, growth, accountability, and community.

A place where veterans can reset, rebuild confidence, and move forward with a plan.

At the end of the day, this isn’t just a nonprofit to me. It’s something deeply personal.

About the Non-Profit

Operation Stable Ground was created with a simple belief: stability is built through structure, responsibility, and meaningful work.

Many veterans leave military service with strong discipline, leadership experience, and a deep sense of purpose. The military provides a clear mission, daily routine, and a team environment where every individual knows their role.

When service members transition into civilian life, that structure often disappears overnight.

The result is not a lack of ability. More often, it is the loss of routine, accountability, and purpose that once guided daily life.

Operation Stable Ground exists to rebuild that foundation.

Through structured housing, mentorship, and hands-on work, the program helps veterans regain direction, rebuild discipline, and transition successfully into independent civilian life.

Why Operation Stable Ground Exists

Transitioning out of the military can be one of the most difficult adjustments a veteran faces. Service members leave behind a life built on routine, teamwork, and clearly defined goals.

Civilian life often provides freedom, but it rarely provides the same level of structure.

Without routine and accountability, even highly capable veterans can struggle to regain momentum.

Operation Stable Ground was created to bridge that gap.

The program provides a structured environment where veterans can rebuild the habits and routines that support long-term stability. Instead of focusing only on temporary support, Operation Stable Ground focuses on restoring purpose, responsibility, and direction.

The goal is simple: help veterans regain the stability needed to build a strong and independent future.

Our Mission

The mission of Operation Stable Ground is to provide structured transitional housing that helps veterans rebuild stability, develop routine, and successfully transition into independent civilian life.

Through housing, mentorship, and hands-on programming, the organization creates an environment where veterans can regain confidence, develop new goals, and prepare for long-term success.

Operation Stable Ground is built on the belief that veterans do not need sympathy. They need structure, opportunity, and a community that supports their success.
